Annual Pasadena Seminars for Employers Set for January & February, 2018

Ensuring Workplace Balance – Annual Pasadena Seminars for Employers:

Covering Employment Legal Essentials, New Workplace Laws for 2018;

Friday – January 26, 2018.

Friday – February 23, 2018:

2018 brings yet more significant changes in California workplace laws. Over a day-long session, labor and employment law specialist Tim Bowles will present his annual review of the workplace legal basics, with emphasis on the reach of these new laws.

Notable changes include:

• Increasingly complex discrimination, harassment and retaliation laws

• New hiring rules – employers prohibited from seeking salary record or criminal history “Ban the Box”) from applicants, and new minimum wage rates increases

• The not-always-obvious effects of 2018 minimum wage increases; and

• Expanded family leave requirements affecting even small companies.

Our updated model employee handbook policy and forms will be available in conjunction with this seminar.

From experience reflected in his Martindale-Hubbell “AV” (highest possible) rating, Mr. Bowles’s presentation also includes important refreshers and insights on the legal basics of personnel management.

The seminar is a must for all business owners, executives and personnel management staff, setting the foundation for confident hiring and stable business expansion in 2018.

These sessions are always well-attended, informative and, according to some, they are also fun!
